1977 Kawasaki KZ900 A4 Unregistered US Import Classic Running Restoration Project
This well-respected, and very much sought-after Tax & MOT exempt 1977 Kawasaki KZ900-A4 has recently been imported from North America where it has spent all its life – the climate is far kinder to motorcycles than ours. This and the fact it's only showing 13019 miles and has been in dry storage for a considerable time have helped maintain its boyish good looks.
As you can see this bike appears to be complete but has a few very nice non-standard replacements including fresh paint produced in Z1B colours and a Delkevic 4 into 1 stainless classic megaphone exhaust. The tank will need a good clean inside and the fuel system and carbs will need cleaning.
The wheels look straight and clean. Forks & yokes look straight with good chrome. Mudguards are both solid & are tidy. Taillight assy is good as are the headlight & hangers. Instruments look good. Carburettors are free sliding off the twist grip. Exhausts are non-original & solid. Seat is a new replica item. Indicators are tidy. Chain guard is tidy as is the grab rail.
The engine turns over nicely off the kick starter – sounds/feels great & has compression BUT BEST OF ALL when we hooked it up to a good battery & fed it fresh fuel, gave it a few prods it fires, starts, runs & revs but it is obvious the carbs need attention.
