This well-respected, and very much sought-after Tax & MOT exempt 1^st edition 1972 Suzuki GT750J has recently been imported from North America where it has spent all its life – the climate is far kinder to motorcycles than ours.

This and the fact it's only showing 14552 miles and has been in dry storage for a considerable time have helped maintain its boyish good looks. 

While it looks entirely plausible, we have been unable to confirm this mileage reading. Please disregard it. 

The single most important purchase for a classic restoration project is the bike to restore, whether it's going to be a commercial venture or just a hobby interest it all starts here!. 

Not that this bike needs or deserves restoring LOOK AT IT they are only ever original 1/once!!!.

As you can see this bike is remarkably original & complete.

It has a few minor age related marks here & there but this is how we found it!!!.

It has stood a while, so the battery is flat, tyres feel hard & fuel tank needs flushing clean inside.

BUT NOW FOR THE GOOD NEWS.

This is the actual bike you are bidding on – Not library pictures.

The wheels are straight with nice clean chrome rims, good hubs & brake plates.

Forks & yokes look straight & clean.

Mudguards are both solid & are very tidy.

Taillight assy is good as are the headlight & hangers.

Instruments & switches look good.

Carburettors are free sliding off the twist grip.

Paintwork is solid, fuel tank needs a good flush-clean inside but is fuel tight and has a few dents/marks & scratches in the original paint.

Exhausts are original & solid.

Seat is in very good condition throughout.

Indicators are tidy.

Chain guard is tidy.

Shock absorbers are damping fine.

The engine is cosmetically very clean, it turns over nicely off the kick starter – sounds/feels great & has compression.

BUT BEST OF ALL

When we hooked it up to a good battery & fed it fresh fuel, gave it a few prods it fires, starts, runs & revs nicely.

OMG that smell is FANTASTIC.
