1972 Yamaha YDS7 250 Unregistered US Import CLassic Restoration Project

This well-respected and much sought after 1972 Yamaha YDS7 250 has recently been imported from North America where its spent all of its life.
As you can see its got a few bits missing; Airbox, mirrors, ballend off clutch lever and LH tank emblem being the most obvious. There is a large dent in the RH side of the tank and other dents throughout, the front brake lever is bent and the tailight lens is broken.
The wheels look straight but there are a few rusts spots on the bright chrome rims.
Forks look straight but the chrome is pitted
Headlight and indicators look ok but the chrome backings are peeling
Chainguard look tidy
Exhausts feel solid but the chrome is peeling on the RH silencer
The seat is in good condition throughout
The tank has some rust inside but feels solid underneath
Instruments look ok and switches move freely
The carburettor is free sliding off the twist grip
When we hooked it up to a good battery we had it firing running and revving on its own fuel but the carb will require a bit of attention.
