This well-respected, and very much sought-after 1987 Suzuki RG400 Gamma has recently been imported from Japan where it has spent all its life.
This and the fact it's only showing 5903 Km (3700 miles) and has been in dry storage for a considerable time have helped maintain its boyish good looks.
While it looks entirely plausible, we have been unable to confirm this mileage reading. Please disregard it.
As you can see this bike remarkably original & complete.
It has stood a while, so the battery is flat.
Sadly, the bike has had a tumble, it has broken the top fairing on the l/h side & broken the belly pan on the r/h side.
BUT NOW FOR THE GOOD NEWS.........The wheels are straight, front wheel is losing some gold paint, but both have good tyres, discs, calipers & working master cylinders.
Forks & yokes look straight with good chrome & clean alloy.
Mudguard is solid.
Taillight assy is good as are the headlight & indicators.
Instruments & switches look good.
Carburettors are free sliding off the twist grip.
Bodywork is all original, fuel tank is useably clean inside and has just minor marks & scratches in the original paint.
Exhausts are original & solid.
Seat is in good condition throughout.
Chain guard is tidy.
Shock absorber is damping fine.
The engine turns over nicely off the kick starter – sounds/feels great & has compression,
BUT BEST OF ALL
when we hooked it up to a good battery & fed it fresh fuel, gave it a few prods it fires, starts, runs & revs.
