This well-respected, and very much sought-after Tax & MOT exempt 1978 Kawasaki KZ650B has recently been imported from North America where it has spent all its life – the climate is far kinder to motorcycles than ours.
As you can see this bike has a few parts missing – Grabrail & carb to airbox rubbers being the most obvious. It has stood a while, so the battery is flat, paintwork is faded, tyres are perished, master cylinder is not working. Sadly, the l/h side panel is broken.
The wheels look straight with clean chrome rims.
Forks & yokes look straight with good chrome.
Mudguards are both solid.
Taillight assy is good as are the headlight & hangers.
Instruments & switches look ok.
Carburettors are free sliding off the twist grip.
Fuel tank is useably clean inside.
Exhaust is a 4:1 Kerker & seems solid.
Seat base is in good condition throughout.
Chain guard is tidy.
The engine turns over nicely off the kick starter – sounds/feels great & has compression - We have had it firing/running on easystart spray but the fuel system & carbs will need attention.
