1975 Yamaha DT400B Unregistered US Import Barn Find Classic Restoration Project Without US Title

This well-respected and much sought after 1975 Yamaha DT400B has recently been imported from North America where it has spent all its life – the air is thin and the climate is far kinder to motorcycles than ours.
As you can see this bike has a few parts missing – Tailight ASSY, mirrors, indicators, rear footpegs, chainguard and kill switch being the most obvious.
The front mudguard has been cut down, the rear mudguard is cracked, the headlight bowl is broken, there are some holes in the seat base and the tank has a couple of dents.
The wheels are straight with nice clean chrome rims and working brakes.
The forks and yokes look straight but are slightly pitted.
The carburettors are free sliding off the twist grip.
The paintwork is slightly faded with a few marks.
The fuel tank has some surface rust inside but feels solid.
The standard exhaust is solid.
The engine is cosmetically clean. We have had it firing/running & revving on easystart spray but the fuel system & carbs will need attention.
