This well-respected tax and MOT exempt 1980 Honda CM400A has recently been imported from North America where it has spent all its life – the air is thin and the climate is far kinder to motorcycles than ours.
As you can see this bike has a few parts missing – front indicators being the most obvious. Much of the bright chrome is pitted/peeling and there is a key snapped off in the tank lock.
The wheels are straight with nice clean chrome rims.
The forks and yokes look straight with good chrome.
The tail light assy is good as are the headlight and bowl but the rim is loose.
Instruments look ok and switches move freely.
The carburettors feel stiff off the twist grip.
The paintwork has a few marks.
The rear indicators are tidy.
The chain guard is straight but the chrome is peeling.
Both mud guards are solid.
The standard exhaust is solid.
The engine is cosmetically clean. We have had it firing/running & revving on easystart spray but the fuel system & carbs will need attention.
